Product Overview

The Gator G35CL is a compact flush mount camera that recesses into the front or rear bar/bumper of the vehicle through an 18.5mm hole making it virtually invisible from outside. An 18.5mm hole saw drill bit is included to simplify installation.

Three wire loops configure the camera settings during installation:

• Blue loop: Default PAL → cut for NTSC
• Green loop: Default parking gridlines ON → cut to remove
• White loop: Default mirror image ON → cut for forward-facing image

For a standard Australian reverse camera installation (PAL, mirror image, gridlines): No loop cuts required the G35CL defaults to the correct settings.

Compatible with any PAL or NTSC display with an RCA connection. Includes 1.5m power wire and 6m RCA video cable with reverse trigger.

The G35CL defaults to PAL, parking gridlines ON, and mirror image. For a standard Australian reverse camera install, no loop cuts are required — the defaults are already correct. Cut the green loop only if you prefer no gridlines.

Does installation require drilling?

Yes. The G35CL requires an 18.5mm hole to be drilled into the mounting surface (front or rear bumper/bar). An 18.5mm hole saw drill bit is included in the kit.

What is the difference between flush mount and surface mount cameras?

A surface mount camera sits on the outside of the mounting surface with a bracket — visible from outside the vehicle. A flush mount camera body recesses through a hole so only the lens is visible at the surface, providing a more discreet OEM appearance.

Can this camera be used as a front camera?

Yes. The G35CL can be mounted at the front, rear, or any location requiring a compact flush-mount camera. Cut the white loop to disable mirror image for front camera use (standard forward-facing orientation).

Is 100 degrees wide enough for a reverse camera?

100 degrees provides a solid rear view with less barrel distortion than 150–170-degree lenses. It is narrower than most generic reverse cameras — suitable for vehicles where a slightly more focused rear view is preferred. If maximum coverage width is required, consider a wider-angle surface mount camera.
