The Gator PLC20 is a 20-metre 4-pin PROLINK II extension cable designed for use with Gator PROLINK II camera systems. It is the longest single extension cable in the PROLINK II range, suited to semi-trailers, B-doubles, and other very long vehicles where even the 15-metre PLC15 is insufficient to reach from the rear camera to the cab-mounted monitor.

What is the difference between the PLC20, PLC15, and PLC10?

All three are PROLINK II extension cables with the same plug/socket configuration. The PLC10 is 10m, the PLC15 is 15m, and the PLC20 is 20m. The PLC20 is the longest single extension available — suited to semi-trailers and B-doubles where camera-to-cab distances exceed 15 metres.

Is 20 metres enough for a semi-trailer?

A standard semi-trailer has a cabin-to-rear distance of approximately 12–18 metres. 20 metres is sufficient for most semi-trailer configurations. For B-doubles or road trains where the combined length exceeds 20 metres, the PLC20 can be combined with the kit harness or another extension cable.

Can the PLC20 be combined with other extension cables?

Yes. PROLINK II extension cables can be daisy-chained. The PLC20 combined with the 2m kit harness included with Gator GT cameras gives an effective run of over 20 metres from camera to monitor. Contact the F.A.E. team if you need guidance on very long total cable runs.
