Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between the PLC26, the PLAC42, and the PLC24?
All three are PROLINK II to RCA adaptors, but in different directions. The PLAC42 provides one RCA plug output from a PROLINK II socket — for connecting an RCA camera to a PROLINK monitor. The PLC24 provides two RCA plug outputs from a PROLINK II socket — same direction, two cameras. The PLC26 provides two RCA socket inputs from a PROLINK II plug — for connecting a PROLINK camera to a standard RCA monitor. Know which direction your connection flows before selecting the adaptor.
Why does this adaptor have two RCA sockets?
PROLINK II is a 4-pin connector that carries video, power, and trigger signals. Two RCA sockets allow the video signal to be split for connection to two separate RCA inputs or devices. Only one socket will carry the active video signal from the camera.
Does this adaptor supply power from the socket?
The DC power socket carries power from the PROLINK II connection — the camera can receive power via the PROLINK II cable, and the power socket provides a connection point for the camera's power supply if needed. Confirm wiring with the F.A.E. team for your specific installation.
Can this adaptor be used to connect a PROLINK II camera to a head unit with RCA input?
Yes. This is the primary use case — connecting a PROLINK II-connector camera (such as the Gator GT50L or G354C) to an aftermarket head unit or standard RCA reversing monitor without PROLINK II inputs.
Is this compatible with non-Gator PROLINK systems?
The PLC26 is specified for Gator PROLINK II systems. Contact the F.A.E. team to confirm compatibility with other PROLINK-style systems.
